Yoga Therapy
at Oasis Holistic
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy takes a holistic approach towards healing. It can be used alongside other forms of treatment and is completely safe.
It involves developing a personal asana and breathing exercise programme, complemented with guidance on ayurvedic principles for nutrition and lifestyle to address the concerns of each individual.
It is taught individually.
At the end of a session, one should feel an increased sense of well-being and over a period of time, a reduction of symptoms. When the condition is permanent, the focus is on improving the mental/emotional state and managing the effects of the condition, while improving the overall health of the person.
What is the intention of Yoga Therapy?
The main goal is to assist in the healing process with a personalized programme that is right for the person and specific to his condition.
Who can benefit from Yoga Therapy?
Anyone, regardless of age, size, capacity or beliefs, in any circumstance.
It will equip one with safe and effective skills to improve his condition.
Even in cases where the condition is severe, solace and comfort can be provided through relaxation and breathing techniques.
What conditions can benefit from Yoga Therapy?
Conditions that respond quite readily are:
Physical conditions: injury recovery, muscular rehabilitation, loss of confidence in mobility, scoliosis, back pain, ankle, knee or hip pain, neck and shoulders tension, postural problems
Functional and mental conditions: indigestion, menstrual problems, insomnia, hypertension, asthma, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety
More complicated condition may require a longer period of time for positive changes to take place, and usually in conjunction with other treatment.
For permanent conditions, the focus is to help control the symptoms and provide relief and improve mental/emotional stability. When the situation is terminal, yoga can provide the tools to help a person towards acceptance and peace.
