About Peter Thomson Peter Thomson has been practicing yoga since 1979 and a student of the Iyengar family since 1981. He founded or co-founded a number of significant schools in Sydney (The Yoga Space, The Sydney Yoga Centre, Mosman Yoga Room) and in 1988 founded the Glebe Yoga School. In 2002, Peter founded the Sydney Yoga Space where he now teaches.
Peter has traveled frequently to Pune and has been a participant in a number of intensives courses with Mr Iyengar including the Backbend Intensive in 1991, Australian Convention in 1992, the South African and Australian Intensives in 1994 and 1995, the Rishikesh Convention and Pranayama Intensive in 1996, the celebrations and intensive in 1998 in honour of Mr Iyengar’s 80th birthday and the Jubilee celebrations for the Iyengar Institute in 2000.Peter’s particular interest in the practice and teaching of yoga is the depth of perception, inquiry and understanding that sustained practice can develop and in making that understanding accessible to students so they can claim it as their own.

- 1 September 07 (Saturday) 2.30 to 5.30pm
- 2 September 07 (Sunday) 9.30 to 12.30pm, 2.30 to 4.30pm
- 3 to 7 September 07 (Monday to Friday) 6.20 to 8.20am
- 8 September 07 (Saturday) 9.30 to 12.30pm, 2.30 to 4.30pm
- 9 September (Sunday) 9.30 to 12.30pm
Total of 26 hours

The Iyengar Yoga Intensive works to build some foundation in
students from which they can derive their own understanding. Peter's
approach is process-based rather than prescriptive and is built off the
establishment of clear perceptual foundations
Note: Iyengar Intensive participants should have a basic background and
foundation of yoga.
All students are expected to maintain a practice over the period between the intensives.
Practice sheets will be provided. Oasis Holistic will also provide practice times.
