5 Rhythms™ Workshop
 |
“When we dance,
The Journey itself is the point
As when we play music,
The playing itself is the point
And exactly the same thing is true in Meditation
Meditation is the discovery that the point of Life is
Always arrived at in the immediate moment ”
- Allan Watts |
Every body that breathes moves, through 5 rhythmic patterns that continuously repeat themselves in an energetic wave of motion. From the Flowing, a fluid, gentle glide of movements, to an increasing pulse of Staccato, an insistent percussive beat, leading to a letting go of wild, catalytic Chaos, then dissolving into the trance-like Lyrical and finding Stillness, the rhythm of emptiness, and then repeating this energetic wave in a cyclical pattern until our minds and bodies move from thinking about life to intimately and vibrantly feeling the life and emotions within us.
We are born in bodies that express the circulation of life force within us. However, from babies through adulthood, we often encounter circumstances and emotions which we are unable to express in this elemental fluidity. The result is a holding pattern that hardens and blocks the fluidity within. This stagnant energy locked inside us is what makes us feel stuck and ill. Practising the 5Rhythms™ meditation encourages us to release this trapped vitality and give more freedom and fluidity in our lives so that we can experience and express life more fully and creatively physically, emotionally and spiritually.
